Biography

vince

A native Barbadian based in Toronto, Vince is a singer-songwriter best known for his soul/funk style influenced by personal favourites such as Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers. He then takes those classics and adds a little Anderson Paak & Allen Stone for a modern vibe.

Vince’s distinctive style of music is about establishing a genuine and unfiltered connection with the audience through an unspoken communication of raw, profound, sublevel of emotions.

Vince was exposed to music at an early age as his father is a steel pannist and his grandmother a pioneer female calypso artist in Trinidad. He began performing at local venues in Barbados in 2015, and had his first major introduction into being a fulltime musician after being personally invited to perform as a lead singer on cruise lines in 2016. In the spring of 2020, Vince moved to Toronto to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter, where he has so far blessed the stage at the Poetry Jazz Café and released his debut EP – Emotional Intelligence.
